  Counting Time... Is It Part Of The Rot?

  how many here have pioneered?.

  be honest, what was predominantly on your mind, telling people this wonderfull good news or was it counting time?.

  an elder once said to me, "you know, it's strange how when pioneers quit pioneering, they're hours don't stay the same, they don't gradually diminish and they don't even drop by half... they drop practically to nothing.".

  Pioneered for 12 years (with stint at Bethel in between).

  Loved the breaks.....but more than that, loved doing RV's (return visits) when somebody got into a home for a long time..... took naps, talked, etc.

  Counting time is such an issue.... the whole reason you would go out was 'cause you needed that last few hours! I started out wanting to do the right thing and really reach people. But after awhile, it became a part of my life that just made me feel guilty all the time. There was never enough time in the day without doing all the shortcuts that were mentioned previously. You would never make your time if you did not do a call first and just keep your time going all day.....no matter what!

  I did not get to ask my dad anything....he pretty much shut down the conversation.... too bad. But I agree, patience. Maybe he will mull it over and draw some conclusions, or maybe he won't like the ones he is fed. Doubt it though---he is in it for the long haul! Thanks for the response.

  below is the first heading from the un-dpi-ngo webpage.. i have noticed that folks here have misquoted this section several times.. please read this carefully!.

  what is an ngo?.

  a non-governmental organization (ngo) is any non-profit, voluntary citizens' group which is organized on a local, national or international level.

  below is the first heading from the un-dpi-ngo webpage.. i have noticed that folks here have misquoted this section several times.. please read this carefully!.

  Thank you for your reminders.... but regardless of all the ways the NGO's relate to the UN, it is enough for me to just see the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society listed in full view on the same list with all the other religions that, in their view, make up the the "Harlot".

  To me, it is just another example of how they say to not be part of the world, but don't mind using it to their own ends. They really can't go wrong if you think about it! They have so many code words like "theocratic warfare" and "caesars things to caesar" blah blah blah to just explain away their wickedness.

  My guess would be that they will announce that:

  "Many have taken issue with the fact that the WTBS is listed with the NGO's of the UN. Fortunately, we do not run ahead of Jehovah's direction to the Governing Body and realize that His spirit directed organization is following the lead of that spirit. Many times God's people have had to deceive others in the course of accomplishing Jehovah's purpose. For example, Jacob had to deceive his father so that he would gain the birthright from his brother Esau........."
  GAG GAG, PUKE PUKE, YUCK YUCK..........

  And those poor pitiful people will believe it! (sigh)

  Thanks for posting that response. I just got done telling my father, carefully, about the WT and NGO etc. Your responsefrom your friend helps me realize that my father is not alone in his lack of reasoning ability.

  He did say that he found it hard to believe that it was true. I told him I was looking at the internet site and there they are. Told him I called and confirmed it and gave the ph# and MsOca's name as the contact person I talked to and confirmed the info. It took about 1 second after that for him to explain that while he did not know about them being and NGO, he was sure they had a good reason. He likened it to being a citizen of a country.... just because you are a citizen doesn't make you unclean. When I pointed out that it is not like they were just there, they had to join by filling out lengthy paperwork, he said that their being NGO's doesn't make them part of the UN if they stay neutral!!!!

  I explained that I was deeply upset by the fact that I preached for years that the UN was the Beast the Harlot rode on and to see that the WT is listed on the same list as those other religions the WT condemns for being there was too much for me to bear. He suggested that if it bothered me, I should write the society and see what they have to say. I told him that I would be surprised if they would answer me since I am df'd. He said that was all he could suggest I do.

  That was it--mind closed, conversation over. He had to go.

  Wow..... he just did not even see it! All I can say is.... I see it, I am disgusted and glad to have had my eyes opened up!

  children of the watchtower

  i have an 8yr old step-daughter caught up in the madness of the jws through unrelenting fear based brainwashing by her mother.

  my husband and i would like to know if anyone has been in a similar situation and is able to help us let her know that there is another more loving way of living in this world.

  its frightening to see the damage my husbands ex is doing to this inocent little girls mind.

  I just wanted to say that you should never give up and lose hope that your step daughter will see things clearly one day. No matter how young, children have a huge sense of justice. They pick up on all the tensions and differences so easily. My daughter, now 15, has finally stood up to her father and told him she does not want to be a witness after years of trying to please him by living 2 lives. She saw the differences in her fathers life and in mine. Your step daughter will see these things too.

  I so agree with all of the other posts.....I don't know how much better I could say it. But the issue of UNconditional love is HUGE! That was the straw that broke the camels back for my daughter. Her step dad and I would remind her all the time that we love her unconditionally. This supported her when she finally told her Father that she did not want to be a witness. He basically did the whole guilt trip thing and told her that things would be different between them and that he would not see her as much. She then asked him that if like Abraham, if God told him to kill her, would he? He said yes! She told him she wanted him to just love her, unconditionally, not only if she goes to the KH> He told her that God's love for us is conditional upon our doing his will and so he is only trying to be like God!!!!!!! She knew this to be untrue as I had always reinforced that God loves all unconditionally--as seen by the fact that he sent his only son to die for "the whole world" - not just for JW's.

  She still tries to please him somewhat....probably will until she is an adult anyway. Children just want to be loved. Make your home the most loving and accepting place for her and she will always see it as a warm haven and will always want to come back to you. She will be able to compare her life experiences with her father and see the contrast in what love really is.

  there you will be able to read the stories of those who have suffered physical abuse at the hands of wt policy.

  all stories will be posted anonymously of course and there will also be a second poems and thoughts page dedicated to victims of physical abuse.

  there you will be able to read the stories of those who have suffered physical abuse at the hands of wt policy.

  all stories will be posted anonymously of course and there will also be a second poems and thoughts page dedicated to victims of physical abuse.

  I confess, I have been a "lurker" for some time. But I must respond to you. I have loved your site and am happy to know that there is someone championing these poor and abused people.

  I am an ex-wife of an elder, pioneer, bethelite, etc. I was mentally, emotionally, and physically abused all during the time of his "glory days". A piece of my story was even in the Awake several years ago on anger management. Seems the Bethel elder that was my table head at Bethel saw a few things that made him concerned. But he never did anything at the time to help me. But, I guess he saw enough to use it later so that he could write an article the society would publish. (Possibly for his "glory days"???)

  Anyway, this is just the tip of the iceberg. But I would love to contribute to your efforts. May take some time to write.....how long can it be? How long is too long? I may have to do some major editing......
